چکیده

Relations between halfand full-lattice CMV operators with scalarand matrix-valued Verblunsky coefficients are investigated. In particular, the decoupling of full-lattice CMV operators into a direct sum of two half-lattice CMV operators by a perturbation of minimal rank is studied. Contrary to the Jacobi case, decoupling a full-lattice CMV matrix by changing one of the Verblunsky coefficients results in a perturbation of twice the minimal rank. The explicit form for the minimal rank perturbation and the resulting two half-lattice CMV matrices are obtained. In addition, formulas relating the Weyl–Titchmarsh m-functions (resp., matrices) associated with the involved CMV operators and their Green’s functions (resp., matrices) are derived.

Trace Formulas and a Borg-type Theorem for Cmv Operators with Matrix-valued Coefficients

We prove a general Borg-type inverse spectral result for a reflectionless unitary CMV operator (CMV for Cantero, Moral, and Velázquez [13]) associated with matrix-valued Verblunsky coefficients. More precisely, we find an explicit formula for the Verblunsky coefficients of a reflectionless CMV matrix whose spectrum consists of a connected arc on the unit circle. This extends a recent result [39...

The Inverse Resonance Problem for Cmv Operators

We consider the class of CMV operators with super-exponentially decaying Verblunsky coefficients. For these we define the concept of a resonance. Then we prove the existence of Jost solutions and a uniqueness theorem for the inverse resonance problem: Given the location of all resonances, taking multiplicities into account, the Verblunsky coefficients are uniquely determined.

Trace Formulas and Borg-type Theorems for Matrix-valued Jacobi and Dirac Finite Difference Operators

Borg-type uniqueness theorems for matrix-valued Jacobi operators H and supersymmetric Dirac difference operators D are proved. More precisely, assuming reflectionless matrix coefficients A,B in the self-adjoint Jacobi operator H = AS + AS + B (with S the right/left shift operators on the lattice Z) and the spectrum of H to be a compact interval [E−, E+], E− < E+, we prove that A and B are certa...

Aizenman’s Theorem for Orthogonal Polynomials on the Unit Circle

For suitable classes of random Verblunsky coefficients, including independent, identically distributed, rotationally invariant ones, we prove that if E (∫ dθ 2π ∣∣∣ ( C + eiθ C − eiθ ) k ∣∣∣ p) ≤ C1e−κ1|k− | for some κ1 > 0 and p < 1, then for suitable C2 and κ2 > 0, E ( sup n |(C)k | ) ≤ C2e−κ2|k− |. Here C is the CMV matrix.
